You should take a rehabilitation or cure measure based on your bronchial asthma if:
- In spite of good medical care, you suffer from impairing physical, social or psychological consequences of the illness and if these impair you in such a way that you can no longer participate in normal professional or private life. This applies in particular to the following cases:
- You receive the maximum therapy (treatment according to level 5 according to the asthma step-by-step plan) and your asthmatic symptoms persist. Your lung function values are permanently in the diseased area.
- Your ability to work is restricted or threatened.
- You are in need of care or assistance or run the risk of being in need of care due to your asthmatic complaints.
- You need non-drug therapy methods that can only be meaningfully carried out as part of a cure, e.g. intensive breathing gymnastics and physical treatments. These are not offered in your home environment or cannot be carried out there to the extent required.
- You need: physiotherapy, physical therapy, medical training therapy, help with smoking cessation, psychological help, or simply a change of location to avoid allergy-causing substances and pollutants at home.
In these cases your doctor will support you in submitting a corresponding application for a cure or rehab measure to your health insurance company or your pension insurance.
